Lalita Shankar
Regional Director, Asia & the Middle East
Lalita is HDI's Regional Director for Asia and the Middle East, and leads the consultancy’s endeavors to leverage our years of global experience in maximizing social impact through business development.
Lalita is a neuroscientist by training and has over 25 years of experience in the design, management and evaluation of large-scale infectious disease prevention and control programs. She has worked with international NGOs, governments (DFID/USAID) and the private sector (Becton Dickenson) with geographical experience in India, South East Asia, West Africa and the Middle East.
Her previous work also includes management of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis (TB), and One Health programs; market development for the introduction of innovative medical technology through public-private partnerships for early diagnosis of TB; cervical cancer/vaccine carriers; and behavior change communication; and advocacy for social impact.
When she is not working across multiple time zones to coordinate, collaborate, and communicate Game of Choice, Not Chance Project’s priorities, she attempts to write funny stories for her 3-year grandson and enjoys listening to classical music.
